DAY HIKE IN SOUTH CUMBERLAND
When
Saturday, August 2nd from 7:30am to 7:00pm
Details
Join Team Green on a trek to the South Cumberland / Savage Gulf area, one of the best hikes in the Southeast.
The 9.9 mile Collins Gulf Trail and the 1.6 mile Stagecoach Road Historic
Trail combine with a short 0.4 mile Connector Trail to make one of
the most fascinating loop hikes in the South Cumberland, with numerous overlooks and waterfalls, including Suter Falls. The spreading waterfall, the cascading creek and massive rock walls of the gorge around Suter Falls make this setting a true spectacle of the Southeast. The Stagecoach Road Historic Trail follows the old Stagecoach Road that ran from McMinnville to Chattanooga. The old roadbed is on the National Register of Historic Places. We will be accessing the trail from the Gruetli-Laager Trailhead and hike the 0.6 miles to the Collins Gulf Trail.
Difficulty
The total length of the hike will be 13.1 miles and it is rated strenuous, so don’t forget to bring plenty of water, nutrition (snacks and lunch), rain gear and sturdy hiking shoes. The waterfalls will be concentrated either at the beginning or end of the loop depending which way we go and there will be very limited if any water sources in between.
Register:
This trip is limited to 12 people. To sign up, email the trip leader Siska Suter

Is this a members only hike???
Michelle, I am so sorry for the slow response. All the spots for this hike have been filled. I do have a waiting list started and can add a couple more people to it.
