Baja Sea Kayak Trip
When
May 10 through May 19
Details
Team Green is partnering with Kayak Baja and Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association or a paddle trip of a lifetime May 10-18. Join us to the Baja Coast from Loreto to La Paz for 6 days out on the water.
About Baja Coast
This is the perfect escape for the enthusiastic kayaker seeing the pace and feel for a true vacation. This remote section of the Baja coastline is a paddler’s dream, offering unique scenic beauty combined with abundant wildlife viewed from above and below the water’s surface. The Sea of Cortez presents optimal paddling conditions too. We will have warm, calm days and possible encounters with migrating wales.
Kayaking along this section of the Baja coastline allows us the opportunity to explore a region accessible only by water. This remote roadless area offers isolated beaches, canyons, arroyos filled with palms trees dotted with small fishing villages and ranches. Most of the crew grew up in this area which adds a unique insight into the local culture as we visit their relatives and learn about the regional history when exploring the seaside ranching villages of Tembabichi, Nopolo, and Los Doloroes.

Testimonials
“I highly recommend it. I want to go back myself. It’s a great trip and a beautiful place. It’s well-run but not slick, more like taking a private trip with a group of strangers. Great food and drink. Make sure to get up early enough to go fishing with Angel. But I always feel a bit odd on a group trip. Something about being “guided” rubs me the wrong way, but the crew and guides here are great. And the little hotel is beautiful and comfortable. Last time I was there was in October. Right at sunset, the mosquitoes were voracious! But a little repellent will get you through and then they’re not too bad after dark.” Joe
“I have NO negative comments about Mar y Aventuras. Every trip I have ever taken with this company has been fantastic in its own way. Their guides are incredible – all are knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, the history of the region, you name it. All though all of their guides are fantastic, I always recommend Carlos Gajon. He is a consummate professional who never forgets how to laugh and have fun even when he is working really hard. And as far as kayaking goes, he is amazing. No matter what your skill level is, you will learn something from him about being in a boat. The same with anything to do with the water – he is part fish (or whale, if you ask him!) Miguel Martinez is also someone I recommend, he is a terrific guide who knows EVERYTHING about the wildlife indigenous to Baja. The food is great – There is no five star fancy food served on these trips, especially the one you are taking. But you will get delicious regional dishes for dinner and good hearty stuff to keep your energy up. The happy hours are pretty good as well, and there is always something fun to go with the drinks – including garlic popcorn, which is not to be missed. The staff – Everyone works really hard to give you the best vacation possible. From the U.S. reservations offices to the staff at the hotel and the guides, you will be well taken care of. I recommend bringing extra cash (U.S. dollars) to tip everyone with – you will regret not having it as you will always want to tip more than you originally thought. The service really is top notch. Bring the recommended gear, stuff to occupy your down time (books and/or games to share) and a flexible attitude about the schedule (which is completely dependent upon weather!) and you will have a truly wonderful experience.” Kathy

My husband and I have been thinking about joining Team Green for a while. This trip may be the carrot we needed to get going. Avg airfare is $400 on Continental, per kayak.com.
We’re beginner kayakers. We’ll be okay, right?
Michelle
