Over the past 12+ years, Team Green has provided me with the opportunity to step out of the office and enjoy and appreciate the beautiful world that surrounds us all. From mountain biking at Long Hunter State Park here at home, to backpacking Mt Rogers in Virginia, kayak camping down the Tennessee river in Chattanooga, rock climbing in Red River Gorge in Kentucky, and hiking through Glacier National Park in Montana, my love of nature and desire to be in it has only grown through the years. Environmental and social causes are also important to me and I love that Team Green provides an opportunity for me to get involved. One of my favorite trips each year is the volunteer day at the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald.
In addition to the Team Green Council, I also serve as the TN State Rep for the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and assisted in the formation of our local SORBA Middle TN chapter. While mountain biking is closest to my heart, I also love backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, and just about anything else that involves the outdoors – except running. My body does not like running and I feel I should only do it if there is a really big, mean animal involved that wants to eat me (which at that point, I am probably SOL anyway).
Team Green has introduced me to some of my closest friends and I still meet new, interesting people every time I lead or attend an event. Oh, and I lead monthly women’s mountain bike rides and occasional beginner clinics, so if you have been thinking about trying mountain biking, let me know! See you on the trail!

I joined Team Green in 2003 because none of my friends were interested in outdoor activities. I started just coming out for hikes every couple of months but each year my activity has grown. I now find myself hiking, mountain biking, kayaking/canoing, SCUBA diving, and camping more than I ever have before. One of the really cool things about Team Green is that you can try out many different types of activities in a laid back atmosphere where you can find people at all levels of ability. A couple of years ago we started an informal e-mail group that meets up to mountain bike on a somewhat regular basis. If you want to be added to the list, drop me a note.
The best thing about Team Green is the people. Although members come from all walks of life, everyone is incredibly friendly and just happy to have found kindred spirits to share their favorite hobbies with. Although I started in Team Green for the activities, it’s really the people that keep me coming back for more.

My interests include road biking, mountain biking, skiing, camping, caving, hiking and being outdoors whenever I can! Team Green gives me an outlet to share what I enjoy with others, and exposes me to new activities that I wouldn’t have done on my own. In addition, I’ve been able to take a more active role in community and environmental service which helps to insure a better future for us all.”

I joined Team Green in 2002 after moving to Tennessee from the Frozen Tundra known as North Dakota. My first adventure was volleyball at Centennial Park. Since then, I have stayed active with the variety of activities Team Green offers. Even as my participation level has varied over the years, there is one constant that always remains. Whether you are a long term member or a first timer to an event, this is a group that will always make you feel comfortable and welcome at any event you choose to attend.

Backpacking is my passion! I also greatly enjoyed the Team Green Ocoee River Whitewater and Lookout Mountain Hang Glide Adventures during 2007, and I’m looking forward to even more excitement in the years ahead. Whether backpacking, rafting or flying, I’ve found that Team Green members are the best thing about Team Green. What a fantastic bunch of people! Both inside and outside Team Green, I enjoy traveling around the nation and the world visiting friends and making new ones. When I’m not adventuring, I make my home in Nashville and at Middle Tennessee State University’s Geosciences Department in Murfreesboro.

Since my first cave trip with Team Green back in 2000, I was hooked. I have met great people who have become good friends while playing in the outdoors. Getting involved with Team Green has definitely changed my life for the better. My interests include hiking, car camping, canoing & the outdoors in general. My favorite trips include funyaking on the Hiwassee, camping at Rock Island, and Garden of the Gods.

I tend to be drawn to adventurous individuals who are active and full of energy, and I have found that Team Green members are among the most vital, energetic and interesting people found on the planet. You won’t find any couch potatoes in this crowd.Tuesday night sand volleyball is something that I look forward to whenever the weather permits. Climbing and rappelling, hang gliding, whitewater rafting, canoing hiking, biking and roller blading are among my favorite outdoor activities. I also enjoy the many social activities with fun, like-minded friends associated with Team Green membership.

Since joining Team Green I have had the most amazing experiences, and
met the most wonderful people. I have conquered fears, pushed myself
beyond my comfort zone, tested my grit and loved every minute of it! I
enjoy rock climbing, canoing, camping, most anything else you can do on
the water or in the woods, and travel in general. I love the outdoors
and have a deep personal respect for the environment and a desire to
protect it for future generations. The greatest thing about Team Green
is that there is something for everyone and there is no substitute for
having such a wonderful group of individuals to share the experience
with.
